This trip takes you on an incredible journey across Cambodia, giving you a chance to experience the magic of South East Asia while taking part in an exciting sports volunteering program to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged children.
You’ll be supporting our local partners to achieve their goal of providing much needed after school activities to local children who are at risk. You will help these kids develop valuable life skills through your role as a mentor and/or sports coach. Bring fun to the daily lives of these vulnerable children and get involved in sports coaching, games and activities and health education initiatives. You could also have the opportunity to get hands on and help to refurbish the learning centres or sports fields. This 3 week experience promises to be life changing, you might think you are going there to teach, but you’ll find you will learn just as much!
Below you will find our current dates and availability for the Cambodia Sports Challenge. If you have any other dates in mind, or you have seen another date advertised then email us on info@challengesabroad.org.au and we will be happy to help.

Days 1-2
Arrive into Siem Reap airport where you will be met by one of our in country teams and transferred to Battambang for a welcome dinner. The following day you will be given an orientation and induction into your volunteer project.
Day 3-19
You will volunteer Monday to Friday with Children’s Action for Development (CAD). CAD is an organisation located on the outskirts of Battambang, which provides education and extra-curricular activities for underprivileged and at-risk children. You will be involved with running a daily sports club with the children, and will also have the chance to teach them about healthy lifestyles, fitness, a balanced diet and the dangers of drug use. You could also spend time on construction projects, building and developing sports fields or helping improve other constriction projects.
By volunteering on this program you will play a mentor role, supporting the children to develop their self-confidence, improve their English and most of all have fun!
During the weekends you are free to explore Battambang and the surrounding area, or to travel further afield to visit Siem Reap and Angkor Wat!
