Although Thailand is increasingly being seen as a developed destination, it still has many economic and social issues. The truth is that although many of the islands have become westernised much of Thailand experiences some form of economic and social disadvantage.
We work collaboratively with our local partners to develop programs, which take a long term and holistic view of improving the health of disadvantaged communities. Through this challenge volunteers will provide health education to children and the wider community and at the same time improve spoken English.
We promise an authentic experience. We’ll show you “our” Thailand, a unique and rich culture that will have an impact on your life… forever!

The challenge starts in Chiang Mai airport where you will be met by one of our team and transferred to your accommodation. Once you are all settled in you will be invited out for your welcome meal and to meet our Thailand team.
On the second day you will have your orientation and visit the project you’ll be working on. We’ll brief you on your schedule for the week and any other information to get you prepared for the two weeks ahead.
As a volunteer on our HealthPromotion Challenge in Thailand you will be working with children in one of our partner schools or Buddhist monasteries to promote all the aspects of living a healthy lifestyle. Volunteers are encouraged to use their enthusiasm and creativity to develop an engaging and fun program for the children utilising games, activities, sports and any other interactive activities.
Volunteers can teach children about a range of subjects such as how to eat a balanced diet, the importance of physical activity, general hygiene, dental hygiene, common food related diseases and how to avoid them as well as why it’s important to go to the doctor! There is even an opportunity to promote pre natal health for midwifery students.
The daily schedule and focus of this HealthPromotion Challenge will depend on the groups own interests and abilities. This would suit a range of students including Nursing, Nutrition, Exercise Science, Midwifery and Pharmacy. All you need is a passion to improve the health of communities abroad and the enthusiasm to work with children. You’ll find out more information on your project details nearer to your departure.
