We work collaboratively with our local partners to develop programs, which take a long term and holistic view of improving the health of disadvantaged communities. Through this challenge volunteers will provide health education to children and the wider community and at the same time improve spoken English.
Volunteers will have a profound impact on the overall health of the community, by providing free dental care to children and their families that would otherwise not have access to it. Volunteers will work with local schools and dental clinics to provide dental care and oral hygiene workshops for adults and children. As well as making a real difference to the lives of some of the most disadvantaged people in Delhi, this program will enable volunteers to develop their skills and gain first hand experience of dental care in a developing country.
Arrive into Delhi airport where you will be met by one of our in-country team and transferred to your accommodation for a welcome dinner. The following day you will be given an orientation and induction into your volunteer project.
By volunteering on this program you will be providing otherwise inaccessible dental care to some of the poorest people in New Delhi.
Volunteers will run a Free “Dental Camp” at one of our partner schools to provide much needed dental care to children and their families. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a range of patients including adults and children. Volunteers will also work within a local Dental Clinic to provide more intensive treatments.
CAA and our local partners take a holistic approach to improving the health and wellbeing of communities and as such part of your time will be spent running workshops on oral hygiene to support the community to improve their dental health over the long term. Oral cancer is a huge problem in India, and education is fundamental in changing this.
As a volunteer you will be required to push yourself outside your comfort zone, working in small teams with limited resources. Student’s who are flexible and adaptable will get the most out of this program.
