India
While India’s vibrant culture and contrasting landscapes can be a shock to the senses, they make it a truly inspiring destination to volunteer and visit, and many are drawn back to visit again and again. Whether visiting the Taj Mahal, or wandering the bustling streets of Delhi, India promises unforgettable sights, sounds and experiences.
Land of the Taj Mahal, the Khajuraho Temples and the Royal Bengal tigers, India is a country of diversity and natural beauty, making is a fascinating destination for travel. With a population of over one billion people, and one of the fastest growing economies in the world, it is also a nation facing wide-ranging developmental challenges.
Our Volunteering is based in Palumpur, the “tea capital of North India”, situated in the foothills of the mighty Himalaya mountain range. Located in the Kangra Valley, you will be surrounded by beautiful scenery, with tea gardens, pine forests and mountain views. If you are the adventurous type, Palampur is a great location in India for you to visit, with trekking and paragliding opportunities on your doorstep.
While in India, don’t miss out on the chance to take the Golden Triangle tour. This takes in the diverse mix of tradition and 21st century life in Delhi, the ‘pink city’ of Jaipur, with its stunning architecture, and Agra, home of the Taj Mahal, India’s most iconic landmark. Make sure to take a camera, as these are sights that you will want to capture forever!
