Medical services are severely under-funded in Romania and the concept of an emergency medical service and pre-hospital care has only existed in Romania since 1990. On this HealthCare Challenge in Romania you’ll work in a frenetic medical emergency department and assist key staff immediately by contributing crucial numbers to an understaffed team.
Furthermore, local staff will have the opportunity to practice their English skills, which is paramount for the hospital to be able to obtain the necessary recognition and funding.
On this HealthCare Challenge you can help by being part of a dedicated team of emergency hospital staff, which ranges from helicopter pilots & ambulance drivers to nurses, firemen & physicians. There are opportunities to travel with the ambulances and the on call pre-hospital physician to deal with emergency incidents, as well as with the hospital physicians and nurses. You will also participate in lectures in Targu Mures with medical students who come from around Romania to learn from this emergency medical service.
